I have been involved with the remodeling business all my life and in most cases the per project price is best served for larger jobs which will require anywhere from several hours to several days. However, just like the automotive industry has a time & material estimating program that all professional automotive service centers utilize, we also use a software program called "Estimating Pro". This was designed specifically for contractors, remodelers, insurance companies, etc. It is updated daily in case the cost of materials or labor change, and is also set to report the labor & material costs for the specific area in which you are located which insures that both the contractor and the client are receiving the most up to date and accurate information for our area, New York City. This is not a shoot from the hip program where the handyman goes " well, I think it maybe take me 4 to 5 hours to do the job, maybe more" No, our program will state exactly the amount of time it should take a professional to complete the job and the hourly rate to be charged. This was put into effect by insurance companies to limit their losses and protect themselves from companies that would do a job in 4 hours, but bill it as 8 hours. This program is what sets apart the weeds from the flowers because it will state" regular 2" door lock change: 1 hour @ $75.00 per hour" For larger projects we use the same system along with our experience to configure a total estimated price and an approximate time for completion. Please note that we do have a 1 hour minimum charge 0f $60.00 to deflect the operating, administrative, and day to day operations of the company plus the costs & time associated with the technicians travel to and from the work site. All online estimates are FREE! If the project requires a professional project manager or company estimator to come to the site and perform an evaluation the 1 hour minimum charge applies, and $50.00 thereafter. This time would also include any on site drawings, suggestions, and an estimate listing each item and charge will be either emailed, faxed, or mailed to you within 48 hours of our initial survey. Take advantage of our half day rate of $350.00(+ Material) 6 work
hours For larger jobs an on site estimate is preferred by me, (I prefer to
physically see the job site conditions and take measurements ext.) simply contact us and we will arrange a suitable time for me to visit or if you feel an
onsite estimate is not necessary we can determine a fair price by phone, fee

Do Bed Bugs Do?

Bed bugs are small wingless insects that feed solely upon the
blood of warm-blooded animals. Bed bugs and their relatives have
evolved as nest parasites. Certain kinds inhabit bird nests and
bat roosts and await the return of their hosts; others have adapted
well to living in the ‘nests’ (homes) of people. Hatchling
bed bugs are about the size of a poppy seed, and adults are about
1/4 of an inch in length. Looking from above they are an oval
in shape, but are flattened from top to bottom when viewing them
from the side. Their color ranges from nearly white (just after
molting) or a light tan to a deep brown or burnt orange. The host’s
blood may appear as a dark red or black mass within the bug’s
body. Because they never develop wings, bed bugs cannot fly. When
disturbed, bed bugs actively seek shelter in dark cracks and crevices.
Bed Bugs seek out people and animals, generally at night while
they're asleep, and painlessly sip a few drops of blood. Bed Bugs
prefer the dark. While feeding, they inject a tiny amount of their
saliva into the skin. Repeated exposures to bed bug bites during
a period of several weeks or more causes people to become sensitized
to the saliva of these bugs; additional bites may then result
in mild to intense allergic responses. The skin lesion produced
by the bite of a Bed Bug resembles those caused by many other
kinds of blood feeding insects, such as mosquitoes and fleas.
How Do Bed Bugs Get In Your Home?
Because Bed Bugs hide in small crevices, they may accompany luggage,
furniture, clothing, pillows, boxes, and other such objects as
stowaways when moved between apartments, homes and hotels. Used
furniture, particularly bed frames and mattresses, are of greatest
risk of harboring bed bugs and their eggs. Thus, you should carefully
scrutinize and consider the history of any used furniture, particularly
‘street’ items so plentiful at the beginning and end
of each academic year. Because they readily survive for many months
without feeding, Bed Bugs may already be present in apparently
‘vacant’ and ‘clean’ apartments. Bed Bugs
can wander between adjoining apartments through voids in walls
and holes though which wires and pipes pass.
